One of the strongest arguments against critics of marriage equality is the positive effect it historically has had on the economy. Wherever marriage and adoption equality becomes the law, a new market for weddings and parenting presents entrepreneurs with the opportunity to cash in.

Such was the case this week for a French mother who is seizing a business opportunity presented to her by the new marriage and adoption laws in France and is milking it for all it’s worth - literally.

As reported in the Daily Mail, a French mother has advertised the services of her breasts and the milk therein to gay couples unable to breast-feed their adopted infants. The ad, which clearly targets its intended demographic ran on the French goods and services website e-loue, was placed by a user calling herself "Cecillia232", who lives in the Parisian suburb of Boulogne. It reads

’I am a young mother in good health, a trained nurse aged 29, and I am renting my breasts to suckle newborns. In one day, I can offer your baby up to a dozen feeds. Gay male couples do not have a chance to breast-feed their babies - however, breast-feeding helps improve babies’ health. Mother’s milk provides comprehensive nourishment.

’Contact me through this site - those who are not serious should stay away.’

In a report by Reuters on Raw Story, the chief executive of the e-loue website, Alexadre Woog went on the record saying that his staff had contacted Cecillia232 to confirm her identity, seriousness of her proposal and legality of the service being offered.

"Our legal advisers are sure of this. It’s illegal in France to sell maternal milk but this is a person proposing a service, not selling the milk in flasks," Woog told Reuters.

The poster of the offer, who remained under the pseudonym Cecillia232,
in an exchange with Reuters said "I’ve received more than a dozen requests, but only half of them were serious. The rest were from perverts,"

The idea behind Cecillia232’s enterprise is hardly original. The practice of wet nursing can be traced back to Genesis, the first book of the Bible and the story of Deborah, nurse to Rebekah wife of Isaac. And while it is unclear how many shekels Deborah was paid for her breast milk, anyone interested in availing themselves of Cecillia232’s services will pay €20 an hour for a single feeding session, €100 for a full day of feeding and €500 for a week’s nursing.

Lol. This seems gross. Who knows where that tits been. Isn’t breastfeeding also supposed to be for the bonding experience too as well as the colostrum? I wouldn’t want my child bonding with an opportunistic prostitute. Maybe, I’ll sell hot protein shots out of my low hanging teat for any suckling gents who feel protein deficient.

Oh Jed wtf? Rude and sexist. I don’t see anything wrong with it, breast feeding is SO much better for babies than bottle feeding: reduces risk of attention deficit disorders and Its nutritive value is more easily digested by babies. We seriously need to get over our fear/hypersexualization of tits, feeding babies is their PURPOSE FOR EXISTING.
