One of the biggest hits of the 2011-2012 TV season, "Once Upon A Time"was created by the writers behind the mega-hit "Lost." It asks what happens "after" the happily ever after in fairy tales, but also gives us a fresh look into the true stories behind the tales as well. Packed with 22 complex episodes, "Once Upon a Time" opens with the marriage of Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and Snow White (Ginifer Goodwin). Shortly after their "I Do’s" the ceremony is interrupted by Snow White’s Evil Queen stepmother (Lana Parrilla) who curses the entire kingdom sending all of the inhabitants to a modern day town called Storybrooke. There, each fairy tale persona has no memory of their true lives and goes about each day with a lack of purpose. It’s only when a little adopted boy starts to uncover the secret and goes to find his mother Emma (Jennifer Morrison) he feels can break the curse that the story really starts to unfold.

Filled with clever takes on familiar stories, expansive production design, and terrific performances by the entire cast, "Once Upon a Time" is the most original and compelling series to come along since - well, since "Lost."

Special Features are fun but slim and include:

  • Fairy Tales in the Modern World - a short feature going behind the scenes at the birth of the series.
  • Building Character - follows the creation, conceptualization, casting, clothing, and filming the character Belle played by Emile de Ravin.
  • Welcome to Storybrooke - Ginnifer Goodwin takes us on a tour of Storybrooke, Maine both the town and the real inspiration which is located in a small town outside of Vancouver.
  • The Story I Remember ... "Snow White" - The actors discuss their early love of the classic fairy tale.
  • The Fairest Bloopers of Them All - a very brief collection of fumbles and goofs by the cast
  • Deleted Scenes - Nine deleted scenes.
  • Audio Commentaries on five episodes with Creators, Producers, and Cast.
  • Once Upon a Time: Origins - Josh Dallas guides us through classic fairy tales and their original incarnations.
